I decided to break out my pinhole camera on a recent camping trip to Crater Lake, OR. Pinhole cameras are so primitive. My pinhole is just a wooden box. It feels like a leftover relic from another time that has landed in the digital world. Using it did remind me of one thing, no matter what camera you shoot with, they are really just recording devices. Controllable dark spots that allow you to show light to film or a sensor for a seconds or fractions of seconds. All these exposures were between 6-25 seconds. It’s a funny to think about grabbing 15 seconds from an epic place like Crater Lake that is thousands of years old .
